Let’s Get to Know Each Other
Hi friend! I’m Bekah Gilmer—the passionate (and admittedly slightly perfectionistic) force behind The Finer Side.
Some might call it a mild obsession with details… I call it a deep commitment to making sure every single thing is seen, felt, and experienced. Why settle for “good” when you can have the finer side of everything?
With over a decade of experience in event coordination, I bring a relationship-first approach to every celebration. I believe exceptional events are built on trust, thoughtful communication, and a deep understanding of each client’s vision, ensuring every detail is handled with care and intention.
At the core of it all, my faith grounds me. I believe the Lord gave me this gift as a way to serve others, and I count it as a true privilege to walk alongside people during life’s most meaningful moments.
I thrive on connection, building trust, and going above and beyond to bring your vision to life, so you can feel supported, confident, and fully present.
The Finer Side is the heart of everything I’m passionate about: creating with purpose, serving wholeheartedly, celebrating well, and showing up with intention.
Ready to collaborate and make something amazing happen? Let’s dream together and create an experience that feels authentic, thoughtful, and truly yours.

In May 2025
I got married!
When I married the love of my life and walked through the experience of being a bride myself, it changed me in the best way. I now understand even more deeply the emotions, excitement, and little details that mean so much on a wedding day. My personal journey helps me connect with my couples on another level. My goal is to help you feel cared for, calm, and fully present so you can enjoy every moment of your day.

Where are you from / where did you grow up?
I am originally from Northern Virginia, just outside of DC. I went to college in DC and lived there before moving down to Atlanta in 2024.
What made you start in events?
I’ve always had a soft spot for weddings — I was that 10-year-old with a wedding Pinterest board and a love for shows like Four Weddings and Say Yes to the Dress! After studying Business Administration at American University, I built my career in hospitality working in marketing and events, where I developed a passion for creating meaningful experiences. My background in dance and stage production has given me a strong appreciation for the coordination and logistics that happen behind the scenes. Weddings felt like the perfect place to combine that passion for organization, creativity, and celebration, which ultimately led me to join The Finer Side team.
What is your favorite part of a wedding day?
My top two favorite parts of a wedding day are watching the bride walk down the aisle and listening to the vows. Always such tear jerkers and it is unbelievably special to witness such meaningful moments for our couples.
What makes a wedding feel “successful” to you?
A successful wedding isn’t one without challenges, because no wedding day is ever perfect. For me, it’s when we handle the unexpected with ease, keep everything moving smoothly, and the couple leaves at the end of the night happy, tired, completely in love, and still smiling. That’s when I know we’ve done our job well!
How would you describe your coordination style in three words?
Composed, reliable, upbeat
What detail do you believe couples often overlook but makes a big impact?
Thinking through the flow of the day from a guest’s perspective can really impact the wedding day. When couples consider how moments will feel for the people experiencing them, while still staying true to what matters most to them, it often leads to thoughtful touches that make the celebration even more memorable for loved ones.
How do you handle high-pressure moments on wedding day?
Wedding days naturally come with a few high-pressure moments, and my goal is always to be the calm in the middle of it all. I focus on staying steady, thinking a few steps ahead, and solving problems quietly behind the scenes so our couples can stay present and enjoy their day. If something unexpected pops up, I handle it with a smile and keep things moving.
What’s one thing couples can always expect from you?
Couples can always expect me to show up with professionalism, positivity, and genuine excitement for their day. It’s an honor to be part of such an important moment in their lives, and I take that responsibility seriously. I’ll always commit to being their greatest advocate and cheerleader!
What’s your go-to Starbucks order on wedding morning?
I am quite fond of a shaken espresso, but if it’s fall, iced pumpkin spice latte all the way!
What’s one thing you always have in your bag? or fanny pack, lol.
Scissors!

Lead Coordinator
Where are you from / where did you grow up?
I currently reside in Alpharetta, Georgia, but I grew up in New Jersey (yes, the Jersey Shore)!
I moved to Georgia in 2015 for college and have never left. Life is the best in the south!
What made you start in events?
I started in events because I truly loved planning my own wedding. I found so much joy in organizing the details and creating a timeline that brought the whole day together. This experience inspired me to help other couples feel that same excitement and confidence for their own special day!
What is your favorite part of a wedding day?
My favorite moment of a wedding day is when the couple walks back down the aisle after offiically saying “I Do!” It’s such a joyful moment with all of the guests cheering and you can feel the excitement knowing the rest of the best night is ahead of them!
What makes a wedding feel “successful” to you?
To me, a successful wedding is when the couple is truly able to enjoy the process and fully live in the moment. They can fully soak in the joy, laughter, and time with their loved ones, that’s when I know the day was exactly what it should be.
What sets The Finer Side apart from other planning teams?
The Finer Side truly stands out because of the level of care and attention given to every single detail. We are committed to creating a seamless experience so our couples can fully enjoy their day!
What’s your go-to Starbucks order on wedding morning?
Most find this crazy, but I actually despise the taste of coffee! I go right to a large fountain Diet Coke!
What’s one thing you always have in your bag? or fanny pack, lol.
I will always carry mini scissors with me in my fanny pack. You won’t believe the number of times that item is requested throughout the wedding day!
